Training Cesar’s Way, with Cheri Lucas, Brian Agnew and Cesar Millan

After this I promise I’ll start blogging myself, but here’s if you want to read about momma’s awesome adventure in California:

Big news!

Now that it’s been a couple of weeks I think it’s safe to say it’s all happening for real

You have no idea what I’m talking about, do you? Of course you don’t, we’ve been too shocked to tell you!!!

Mom has been accepted to Cesar Millan’s training course in California!!!!!!!

I know, it’s unbelievable! She’s flying to Los Angeles on Tuesday next week, and she’s bringing Adela with her!!!

When mom first found out, she almost passed out. She ran around yellin’ and screamin’ and almost made poor grandma, who was on the phone, completely deaf. See, mom applied for the course in February, and even though she never gave up hope, she was starting to think that maybe she wasn’t getting lucky this time. That’s when she got an email starting with the words “Dear Student”…

The students are able to bring a dog and mom had an extremely hard time picking one. With so many to choose from, who could blame her! Her thought had always been to bring Addy cuz she’s the only one mom feels she still has questions about. Her issue is that some situations will stress her out to the point of almost passing out, but since our folks have found ways to work around it, as in hard-core controlling her when needed, they don’t have any problems. However, mom would like to know if there’s any way that Addy could ever be handled like the rest of us without losing it. As a puppy mill dog, Addy is most likely both inbred and suffering from chronic stress issues. I guess mom’s question is if she’s doing enough for her, or is there more to it?

There was a time when she changed her mind and wanted to bring Alfie instead. She had found a crate (the biggest size available) she hoped was big enough for him and had even got his paperwork and vaccinations ready for the trip. The reason for her sudden change of heart was that she felt like Alfie would make a great challenge for both herself AND the trainers. And let’s not forget he would have made quite the impression on Cesar himself! Let’s just say it’s not very likely that he’s met a Sarplaninac before, seeing as he had no idea what it was when mom asked him!

In the end it was far too expensive to travel with a huge dog like Alfie, and looking back I’m sure mom feels pretty okay with that. Her choice of companion fell back on Addy and as a believer in destiny I think she feels that this is how things are supposed to be. Alfie would have delivered an unforgettable experience for real, but we’re still not sure if that’s a good thing or not… Addy’s more of a safe card. Safe, and hopefully very meaningful.

The course is held on the Dog Psychology Center in Santa Clarita Valley, CA. The trainers are Cesar Millan, Cheri Lucas and Brian Agnew. To top it all off, a graduation dinner is held on the last day, and students receive a graduation certificate from Cesar. Mom is hoping that this very certificate will improve the business of our Dogs of Pegasus.

With only 8 days to go there’s still a whole lot to do and get ready for. Business cards have been ordered and mom finally had a great excuse to get new and appropriate “athletic wear” to suit up in. Now she just needs to get crackin’ on that big, gold-framed photo of me in my nicest suit…or tennis ball. She’ll need something nice to give them, won’t she?

If this face isn’t memorable, I don’t know what is.
