Weekend company

It was nice having Charlie and Suzanne over for the weekend. They liked the house, and I think Charlie had a good time with us dogs. It was non-stop playtime, and we took turns teasing each other with toys and sticks. Lego and Charlie are new BFF’s now. Alfie used to be the only one who really knew Charlie, but Lego share his type of energy and character. When they’re not playing around they’re simply kissing each other madly! Alfie’s just not that kind of guy, and me neither, so we try to stay out of it. I say “try”, cuz we both have tendencies to butt in sometimes. Alfie’s that way with the toys, I’m like that when they’re playing roughly – we want in! Anyway, we wish them back soon!

Some of our flowers.

Tugging the snake toy.

Give it here!

Dad & Ev watches the game.

I, however, was inside taking a nap. Check out my comfy position!

P*A*R*T*Y!

Without further ado, here’s our much longed for birthday bash in pictures (and some words)… Enjoy!

Suzanne’s all over the party preparations.

The birthday cakes, consisting of bread, liver paté, letter crackers and, well…cat food. Why? Dunno, it was mom’s idea.

A little big for Yoshi, dontcha think? Lucky I was there to help him :).

The party invitation, along with Alfie’s cake.

Charlie’s party invitation. It says to bring a good spirit (and why not a gift?).

Charlie, what are you wearing?!

Well, don’t you look handsome!

I don’t get it, what’s so funny, Suzanne??

Wtfnn…mlss..krghh…….WHYYY?!?

Yeah, you take THAT! Lousy party hat…

Awwww…

A lion for our little lionet…

Ev is totally feeling his hat.

Hey, it’s my birthday, too! says Yoshi.

Maybe if I close my eyes, I’ll wake up and this will aaaall be a dream… *hoping*

Aw, man!

Balloons, balloons! Everywhere you look there are balloons!

Pass me one, dad!

I got it, I got it!!!

Happy birthday to you…

Hold your horses there, buddy!

I. Want. That. Cake.

One for the album!

Lego checks out his cake…

…and all of a sudden, very appropriately, here I come!

Mmmm! I want me some of that cake!

Yum-my!

What, I’m hungry!

Yoshi blows the candles.

Piece of cake… For some reason mom, dad AND Suzanne didn’t want any. How weird is that?!

Ah, cake at last…

Ev & Addy go crazy over their share.

Charlie chows it down.

Charlie Brown

Charlie and Suzanne came over yesterday. They had been walking with mom, Lego, Yoshi, Ev and Addy. Apparently they had ended up in one of the more “unpleasant” neighborhoods around here, but luckily came out in one piece…

When they got home Alfie was thrilled to see he’s old pal, I was more annoyed. Dad told me to chill so I did, and then we both went to bed. Now that mom is better, dad’s caught a cold instead. I kept him company while mom and Suzanne babbled til 3 in the morning! Alfie, Lego and Charlie played like maniacs. Lego’s, like, all in love with Charlie now. He even protected him from Alfie when he got too rough, and they were caught kissing a number of times… Oh well, it’s always nice to make new friends!

Look at all my friends, momma!

He really does taste like chocolate!

WOOHOO!!!

YIKES!

Okay, okay, I’m SORRY!

GRRRRR!!

Phew! I’m exhausted!

Note to self: Remember Lego’s b-day!

It just occurred to me that we won’t be able to celebrate Lego’s 2nd birthday this year either. Mom and dad are always away on vacation that time of year. This time it’s not that bad though, they’ll be home the day after, so we’ll throw him a b-day party then. I just can’t believe he’ll be 2 already!

First-time swimmers

Last week was a good one weather wise. One day mom and dad took Yoshi, Lego and Alfie swimming in Sisjön. It had been very hot that day, but to make it easier on the guys they waited until later in the afternoon before leaving. Yoshi is a good swimmer but he thought the water was too cold still. And the wet look didn’t do him any favors either… Lego and Alfie are both very curious of the water, and none of them mind getting in up to their stomachs. Dad tried hard to get them to go deeper, and maybe even swim a little, but one after another they chickened out, and that was it. Eventually dad carried them in one by one, but as soon as he let them go they swam right back. There’s a fine line between a good ol’ supportive push in the back and pressuring someone to the point of a mental breakdown, and dad sure knew when enough was enough. They settled for the progress they had made that day and concluded that next time they might wanna bring me instead of Lego or Alfie – I’ll dive right in, no push needed! And the truth is that no technique in the world is better than the good example of another dog!

Hot day + Ice cream = Good decision.

Almost there!

But it’s cooold!

Check me out wiseguys!

Look at him go!

Soaked.

Alfie’s turn.

And now Legolas.

Good job, Lego!

But he heads straight for dry land…

It’s really funny, see?

How about I carry you?

There ya go!

I told you it’s nothing!

And they’re supposed to be tough…

Almost rid of the wet look…

All wet ‘n’ fluffy.

Alfie & Lego – 2 brave first-time swimmers.

Are we having dinner yet?

Lego’s best day ever!

A few days ago Lego went to Näset with mom and dad. That’s the same place Alfie was at a couple of months ago. It’s really beautiful out there but dogs are normally not allowed… I say normally because now it’s too cold for humans to swim anyway, so no one’s there – yet. In another month or so the beach and cliffs will be full of carefree sunbathers, a.k.a. beach bums! Then our time will be up for many months to come and we’ll have to stick to other places when it comes to water.

Lego had the time of his life in Näset, he’s actually never been seen happier than that day. So now we finally know what he loves best; running freely and water! What a surprise…
